MEET THE FOUNDER

Miles Pitcher

Miles is a professional skipper, RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and maritime educator whose career spans private yachts, sail training, ocean racing, commercial workboats and charter operations.

He began sailing in Burnham-on-Crouch aboard his father’s 22-foot cruiser and went on to command and commission yachts internationally. His experience includes commissioning skipper with Oyster Yachts, Sailing Master aboard Ocean Spirit of Moray and Head Boat Captain at Necker Island.

Miles has also delivered commercial maritime training for pilot boat crews, coxswains, crew transfer vessel crews and ferry companies. He has taught MCA Small Ships Navigation and Radar, MCA Efficient Deck Hand and Master 200 preparation, and has supported training involving Royal Military Police and Royal Navy patrol vessels.

His operational background includes charter fleet management, vessel readiness, safety, staff leadership and the practical demands of running yachts in service. He brings that experience into every course, helping students build sound judgement, technical understanding and confidence on the water.
